Ok so Its time to update my computer. I currently am running an AMD 2600 Barton processor. I wnat to upgrade but I dont know if I need to or if I do, what processor I should get and that the motherboard would still support. Its a socket A board. I plan on running a 1gig or RAM with it. whats your guys opinion?

Whats the pin for the cpu? or I guess socket A is what it goes by and whats the front side bus?

If I am not mistaking, I think you can upgrade to an 3200. I would get the dfi lan party 939 pin and go with a athlon 64 3500 plus cpu and Mobo. Not sure what you want to spend here.

If you go with a nforce2 chipset motherboard with good overclocking in the bios you could use the same processor to gain the extra mhz of the 3200, and put off buyin a processor till you go the 64bit way when the os is out for it and other programs start using 64 bit tech. also using pc3200 memory will help with you overclock
