   Ok I found a thread from someone having the same issue as me and I took the adive given and everything worked but the lan. I downloaded it unziped it and the only thing there were files that I couldnt open no exe file like the others. I dont know what else to do. I have done the process at least 5 times, and the same every time, xp works everything else works, but no lan. please any adivce?
   
   oh the computer is the same kind as the one in the thread.

   Make sure you install the Chipset driver from ACER first before you install the LAN driver, Chipset is listed in the ACER downloads for your model PC
