Laptop Acting Strange

My latop was checked for malware and came up clean but I'm not sure if I don't have a back door after reading all the news lately.

When I use a VPN on windows 7 laptop with Firefox after going to certain major news organization sites and reading about revelations on the recent surveilance programs, my laptop freezes. I can't type any characters, copy, past. When I click on a desktop icon, and click on it several icons will be highlighted at the same time. When I use any key on the keyboard, it will load different things up, like certain files, open start menu, really odd stuff.

So, I loaded Procmon up and while I am procman, it lists Firefox.exe suddenly a new task is started looking into all my files and folders on another partition. System indexing starts off even though it is turned off. A process goes into my system internals folders and executes the files within each of those program. Windows 7 would not need access to those files nor would there be any reason for Firefox or any program go to my other partition.

I know I don't know what this could mean. The only way to correct the problem is shutdown and reboot. I scan for all rootkits,malware etc but come up empty. The malware forum said my machine was clean aand to come over here. I was able to save some bits of the procman log by taking a picture of it. Any ideas?

you can also test your Ram memory , go to Start - Run MdSched - ok , you can run this before run memtest86 for instance , you can give your laptop's model by returning it , at the bottom of the laptop there is a sticker with the model/ product number :wave
