    Hi
Have anyone converted their laptop into a desktop setup like removing the screen and adding several monitors with the aid of pluggable adapters?
    Thanks

Look for a "dock" or port replicator. Usually port replicators are connected by USB. Do you have USB 3.0 on those laptops? StarTech make a triple display USB3DOCKH2DP

Yes I have USB 3.0 but the question is, can I remove the screen?

If you close the laptop screen it doesn't take up that much space, why would you want to do that?

I am looking to remove the laptop screen and plug external monitors to the laptop, if you look at my setup on the first post the laptop on the right is the one with the externals, so I like to remove the laptop screen completely (disconnect it) use the laptop like main PC sort of speak.

Why remove the laptop screen? Just disable it.

So what are you really talking about - removing the whole top lid of the clamshell? Then I would just get a PC and put it on the floor.

Look solve all your issues - buy one of these Dell Precision 3431 Desktop Workstation with this config NVIDIA(R) Quadro(R) P620, 2GB, 4 mDP to DP adapter.
That is a small form factor desktop that will support 4 monitors.

Yes- you could remove the screen -BUT, toc onfigure the external screen you need to see the laptop screen to st it up-Once the external screen has been set, and saved, you should be able to use it . It is often a way of testing a laptop that has no display on the laptop screen.
Basically you need to let us know you actual system-which model, -and then you need to see a breakdown of the laptop internal 's.
Then you have to release the cables for the display, the hinges, and be aware that the wireless cables go around behind the screen itself, so, you would probably need to release them from behind the screen, but attached to the laptop- unless it would work with a wireless dongle, without the cables.

Excellent point. If you need to boot into the BIOS Setup Menu, you may be hosed if you physically remove that screen.

My notebook lets me configure the action when I close the lid - one of the options is, Nothing - meaning the system keeps on running (does not go to sleep). Short of getting a PC that is properly configured for the job, that is what I recommend - if your BIOS menu has that option too.
