My laptop automatically shut down right after the battery ran out and now when i try to charge the battery, it says "6% available (plugged in, charging) and the percent hasnt moved since...when i take the ac power off the laptop doesnt power on with the battery
is my battery dead? cuz it was working perfectly fine before the shut down and i know it holds a 5hr charge

Have you removed and reconnected the battery (ensuring the connection is snug)?

Some more info on your PC would be very helpful:
    - Make and Model,
    - Age,
    - Is this the first time the battery was flattened?
