laptop driver problem

    Hi,
    anybody got any ideas on this one? clevo d27es notebook win xp (no service packs).2ghz celeron 128 ram. uses sis 650 shared video.boots up new hardware found, have to pick the driver from list,goes thru the motions seems to install but get error "device can not be started code 10."got full screen 1024x768 x32 display.
    any suggestions gratefully recieved.Thanks

    Hi and welcome to MajorGeeks.

    Which hardware is it detecting and asking for a driver?

    Check Device Manager for any ? or ! and try updating your motherboard and video chip drivers.

    :) Thanks for the reply and the welcome!
    I downloaded the aida 32 app and it flagged the video as sis 315 so i installed the driver but still can't start the device.got full screen vga but no d3d functions if i can get all the drivers for the machine i may reformat ,what do you think?

    That's up to you.

    If you don't want to, download Everest and post the log as an attachment. (don't copy and paste)

    Aida32 is pretty good, but Everest is more up to date.
