This is my neighbor's laptop, which runs veerrrryyy slooowwly. I have run all of the scans, but I cannot see anything wrong.

However, your eyes are certainly better trained than mine. Is there anything here that you see needs my attention?

BTW, there is also some kind of pop-up blocker which stops me from attaching files on this forum -- the attachment management window will not even open, even when I try to override the pop-up blocker in IE. I had to ftp these files to another computer, then post them from there.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jim

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

First a comment on however you are obtaining and posting the logs. You appear to be manipulating the log files some how and removing the carriage returns. They look like UNIX files rather than PC text files. This makes the logs illegible and we have to do more work on them before we can read them. It is probably related to the fact that you FTP'ed them to another machine. You probably did not set the ftp session for binary mode and lost the carriage returns. Please don't do this anymore. And perhaps you do have some kind of popup blocker in effect or another setting somewhere in IE is causing you an issue with the attachments. Sometimes it is just a matter of clearing your IE cacher and Refreshing the page.

These is no apparent malware in the logs. You will have to look elsewhere and post a message in the Software or Hardware Forum. You may just need to uninstall unnecessary software, look for software or hardware conflicts, look for malfunctioning hardware 9like hard disk), defrag the hard disk, run a registry cleaner......etc. All of these are not topics for this forum.

This PC does not even have an antivirus application or a real firewall installed which are necessary and would also slow things down more.

You should uninstall CounterSpy now since it is only a trial and will expire and also since it will slow performance down even more.
