Laptop loading problem...

Hi,

I have a problem, my uncles laptop is broken!
I'll take you through what it does, when you go to start it up, it asks if you want to go into safe mode (and also the options for networking and command prompt), last known good configuration, or start windows normally...

no matter which one you choose, it starts to load and the xp screen comes up with the little blue loading bar moving left to right, then it cuts out and starts to load again, and the process is restarted...

I was going to make a boot cd for it as it doesnt have a floppy drive...
I was looking round the net and they all seem to need the original xp disk, which I dont have...

is there anyway to fix this without at bootdisk, or could someone help me make a boot cd without the original xp disk?

I looked on there, they all seem to refer to copying the contents of the original disk... I dont have it.

I have the usb version of xp but the laptop in question wont let me boot from a usb... I tried putting that on cd and booting that way, but it wouldnt let me do that either.

Could someone please go step by step to making a bootable cd from scratch.
