   Im not sure what happened, but I turn on my hp pavilion dv6000 today and when I login it automatically logs off after a few seconds....what is going on?

   Sounds quite typical of having your userinit.exe file or related registry keys corrupted or deleted. Does it also happen in safe boot mode? If so, you will need your Windows Boot CD to fix. Since you neglected to tell us what version of Windows you are running, I will point you to a fix sometimes used to correct this:
