Laptop screen dim

    I have an HP nx7010, typically when I turn it on the screen is very dim, almost to the point I can't see it at all. If I leave it on/restart it/ randomly just mess around the screen will be lit up again. I put a new inverter in it but that didn't work. I looked on ebay for a backlight or screen but didn't find anything. I could buy the whole screen assembly but that would cost more than the laptop is worth. Any thoughts on what I could do?

    Yup, hook it up to a monitor. LCD/CRT whatever.
