I have a good condition old IBM T-60 laptop. It worked for a month just fine, but has started not connecting to the internet.

-In Device Manager, says it is working just fine. It does send, but does not recieve over ''4'' packets in 'Local Area Connection''

    This is running on WinXP

Only thing I can think of is reinstall the driver, also I am getting a USB connection for the lan line. But I would like to fix this if possible.

Hmmm, my folder does not have the LAN icon, just a wireless but I don't have wireless card. I think I may have deleted it, can't make another one so far. Can I transfer this connection from another computer? It will not allow me to make another connection? Whats up with that?

Ok, got the new icon connection set up, but same results. Outgoing packets is like 4-8 count.
