laptop will not boot unless you tap home key

sony vaio-intel pentium cpu-2.00 ghz-4gb ram 64 bit-windows 7. All I get at the boot is the sony splash screen unless I tap the home key. How do you stop this?:confused

Are you waking the computer up from standby (ie sleep), or from a complete powered off state. My guess is that it has nothing to do with malware, and is more of either a hardware or user use of the device. If the laptop is very old, it is possible that the keyboard is starting to show wear and along with the power key circuit board.
