So my sister dropped my laptop and when she gave it back to me it was working fine. It is a relatively new laptop (few months old) and has not been used all that much at all. Its Sony Vaio NS20ES.

When i got the laptop back i listened to some music on youtube and left it on while i went to the gym. I came back and firefox had frozen and would not close and then windows would not shut down so i had to force it buy holding the power button. The next time i switched it on it just did the Vista loading thing where that bar goes from side to side and got stuck doing that and would not progress. So i did a forced shut down again and this time all i got was the Vaio picture thing when it turns on and then a blank screen.

Has anyone got any ideas of what this could be?

    Hey guy.

Laptops not my area of expertise...

Hope you battery isnt leaking or something may have gotten fractured in the initial drop, then heat stress made the fault apparent or worse.

Then again you may have a boot virus or other malware.

Try inspecting the laptop battery and the contacts on it, also the metal connections on the laptop as a start. Or try plugging it into the wall and running it from a power socket?

    G.luck with this one.:wave
