Laptop wont start up :(

Loaded on it yesterday, Zone alarm and AVAST but it wasnt compatible with ZA so took it off and put on AVG.

Turned on the laptop this morning and it wont go past the first screen where it says F2 or F12 or ESC for various things.

I have pressed the RESET button and also F2 but nothing.

Any ideas???

nope, nothing works, not even safe mode

 

Will it do anything while pressing the F5 key at boot up? confused

If you have the Windows Installation CD, you might want to try a repair.

 

got a repair disk and i put it in and nothing happened either. nor did pressing F5.

i have taken it to a repair shop, only 25 euros for a diagnoses, i need it for work so cant be without it for too long (although excellent excuse to the boss ) when i took it in, it went one step further than usual (typical!) but then went back to the first screen, switched off then turned itself back on to the screen, he thinks its the hard drive :cry
