Laptop wont stay in hibernation

Hi I'm new here. Great knowledgable site you have.

I have a HP Pavilion zx5275EA laptop and when i ask it to hibernate it goes through the process but only hibernates for like 1 second before it resumes windows.

I have checked the power options and everything there is fine.

Any ideas whats wrong?

sounds like a nic (wireless or ethernet) is set to wake the computer when it gets data.

 

I tried closing my wireless connection but it made no difference. Laptop standby is acting the same way as hibernation.

I cant do a system restore as i had a virus called Downloader ** so have lost restore settings.
I have also ran spyware and registry mechanic, tried scan /now which someone else suggested.

I don't know what else to try. My knowledge has come to an end.

Any other suggestions appreciated.
