Not really one DVD, but the James Bond Ultimate Edition, of all 20 movies, on 40 DVD's, in the briefcase edition. Limited to 6,000, worldwide (?) # 5100/6000.

    http://www.dvdlard.co.uk/Content.aspx?ContentID=2939

Did not even know about it, until I mentioned it to a guy behing the record :D store counter. Shows my age.;)

I had previously seen the cheaper "Ultimate Collection", a shrink wrapped version, no briefcase. My 2 sons had bought that edition at AUD$299, as they are fans, like me.

    Both editions were "limited".

The guy mentioned that they had one briefcase copy that someone had put a deposit down on it, but not paid any more on it.
They had been trying to contact him regularly but with no success.
I asked to be put down as "next option of buying" if they were unable to contact him.

A couple of weeks went by and I bumped into the same guy behind the counter yesterday. I asked him if they still had it. He said yes. He said if he couldn't contact him right now, then it was mine. Unable to raise the guy on his mobile, so suddenly I was AUD$499 poorer.

Just checked out the above link, using google, and it sold for GBP£299 (around AUD$750) so I did better than I thought.

Briefcase edition is spectacular, with a high quality case with combination locks.

Made in China, lol. It comes with 2 combination locks set to 000 and a plastic tie-down on each lock to stop the combination being altered. They should have thought of 007, though, IMHO. lol

It is heavy, the 20 DVD sets are arranged in 2 rows of 10 and each is stored at a 45 °
angle to lower the overall dimensions.

Anyhow, that is my Christmas and Birthday presents to myself, for the next couple of years. Bazza

That's pretty cool. Does the briefcase have room for future James Bond DVD's like the one that's coming out in the winter?

I've never, ever bought a DVD before. I have two that my brother and my girlfriend gave me. That's it.:D

  3. Solange

    Solange Sergeant Major

Last game I bought on dvd count? :D

If I could afford it, I would spend more on DVD's, as I enjoy watching movies of a wide range of genres, and I would like to have a huge collection. As it is right now, on a teachers salary... ;) that is one of the things I cut down on, and not suffering terribly either! Usually my dad gets the movies and/or series I want to watch, and I just borrow them from him! http://members.chello.se/solange/smileys/lol.gif

Last movie I bought was Galipoli, damn that is a good movie! :)

I'm a huge Bond fan as well, and that case sounds fantastic! :) Over the years though, I've managed to record most of the Bond movies. With the exception of the 2 that Timothy Dalton stared in, didn't like them very much...

    Last 2 I bought together:
Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey, and
My Girl Friday, with Cary Grant.

The one before that was The World's Fastest Indian, which I know is one of Baz's favorites.

My wife bought the last five seasons of Driends in order to complete her collection!!

I about s&%t when she did, but she bought a couple of seasons at Best Buy for $35.00/season...then went a couple of blocks down the road to Krogers to get some groceries and they had a disply set up for $19.99/season...so she got the five she needed and took the others back to best buy!!!!!!!!

I've around 150 DVD's at the moment. That is individual titles.

I just purchased Gallipoli. as well.
    Cost me AUD$16 (around USD$12, or GBP£6.50)

Halo, you should also buy the original version (50's or 60's) for comparison.
Better story, less special effects (of course). :D No Tom Cruise. lol.

Yes, it is very good. I've used in my English classes so my students get to hear some Aussie accent, and get to see some of the Australian landscape. And to show a long ago forgotten aspect of the war... :)

Loved it. Definitely not your average "Hollywood" movie, but was great. True story made it even better. Hope you can get your hands on it soon. :)

Probably will not be released for another 12 months. :p
'Till the video rental stores have had enough time to rent it out, etc. :p

Might think about buying it from the USA, region code 1, but that doesn't matter as my laptop and home DVD players are multi-zone. Bazza

Both my sons (they live at different addresses) just bought the metal cased boxed set of Alien Quadrilogy.

9 disc Special edition, 4 movies,
Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurrection and exclusive Bonus disc.

We've discovered this store that has lots of metal cased sets of various movies that we have never seen anywhere else, before. They are getting lots of our $$$. Bazza

Since the internet came online, and we started to share, I havent bought a CD or DVD.

CD's cost £14.99 in 1988, the reason they were so expensive was cos' their new.

2006 and they still cost £14.99, I wonder who is stealing from who?

    Hi.Question regarding forums.

On a forum like this or another forum, how do you put a website link,(other than typing it all out manually) you can click on to in your reply or new thread and how do you do the same if you want to put another thread link from the same forum in your reply?

My computer skills are limited.Using the internet, installing and running programs and some basic stuff is all I know.

I`ve never done any cut, copy, pasting and I`m not sure if it`s required or not to do the above.

    Thanks.

You Poms appear to be getting ripped off on all computer related stuff.
DVD's here range from AUD$2, on upwards. I just bought Man in Black, Johnny Cash, Live in Denmark, 1971 for around GBP £10. I noticed Forest Gump for around AUD$12, or GBP£5, for example. Bazza
