LCD monitor recommendation

    Not sure if this is the right board but here goes.
    Looking to purchase 17" LCD monitor because CRT gives me headaches and eye strain.
    Need one that can be dimmed a lot (sensitive eyes) and still be readable.
    I don't play games, just the occasional Heroes of Might and Magic.
    I have a COMPAQ computer recently prchased with Windows XP.
    I'm cheap.
    I live in Canada.

    Dell has some affordable monitors you might want to look at. I bought a few Envision monitors at places like Staples, CompUSA, affordable good quality. Pretty easy choices nowadays most LCD's are priced the same and have great response times with little to no dead pixels.
