Is it ok to leave your peripherals on 24 hours a day like your speakers and subwoofer? Or does this give them more wear and tear?

On a related note, I just bought a visioneer scanner and found out that these items have no on-off switch. I shut my system down everynight and so, does that mean that Ihave to unplug this thing every time or would it be better to have a switched spike detector separate from the rest of the system? Sorry if I butted in for my question too.

You can leave stuff running. It won't wreck them. They'll be so out of date that you won't want them anymore long before they get wrecked from being left on. SO long as you arn't throwing them around speakers and subwoofers don't tend to die for many years.

As for you Jarhead. Just leave it alone. It has no on/off switch because it doesn't need one. It activates itself when you use it and when it's done it turns itself off. Unplugging some scanners after use could in fact damage them as they need power to cool themsleves down properly. Once they're ready to be shut off they'll shut themselves off.

I'm not going to make anybody mad by jumping in here again to ask more questions about this scanner thing am I??

You could always have made your own thread. It's not like there is a price per thread.

Just post questions if you have them. Although don't post asking if you can post quetions, that is more likely to upset people.
