    Hey everyone.

Today I have a small list of problems that my girlfriends Lenovo G505s laptop has that we can't seem to fix.

    Firstly, specs:
    AMD A10-5750M APU
    AMD Radeon™ 8570M 2 GB graphics
    1TB HDD Hard Drive
    8GB DDR3L-1600 MHz
    Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

So, problems. My girlfriend plays Elder Scrolls: Online with TeamSpeak 3 running in the background so she can chat to her brother and best friend (they all play together). Sometimes its Skype but mostly TS. There are 3 main problems she encounters:

1: The laptop turns itself off. Pretty certain this is an overheating problem as the laptop in the top left corner (near 1-4 and q-e of the keyboard) its pretty damn hot on the underside. Happens once a day (always once, never twice or never).

2: The keyboard stops working. Need to restart the laptop to get it working again. Not a single key works, not even the windows key so its not the game.

3: Mouse stops working or moves erratically for a short time then is normal again. Again, if it stops working a restart is needed.

We use a cooling pad with 2 medium sized fans which seems to make it last longer but it still turns off after 5-45 minutes of playing (varies a lot).

I don't know what her power settings are on as I never go on her laptop, I assume balanced. I read a few things saying to change them to high-performance but I also read that this doesn't always help, also this was for a slightly different problem. I also read about updating the BIOS to version 2.05 (think it was 2.05) but this fixed a different (although slightly similar) problem.

Any ideas please? If not we will have to send for a replacement, then we will have to reinstall and update everything again, we already don't have much time on our hands nowadays.

Thanks for reading :) tried to keep it short

How old is the laptop? Did you blow the dust out of the ventilation holes and the heatsink fins? Is/are the fan(s) working?

Brand new. Think we bought it March this year

It's less than four months old and shouldn't be presenting the problems you're having. Get an RMA and return it for a new one. Obviously, there's a manufacturer's defect.

Yea that's what we kinda think too. Was thinking it might be because the laptop is really high powered and doesn't have adequate cooling but this doesn't explain the keyboard and mouse problems. Ok, we will do this then. Thanks :)
