I have a Lenovo G470 laptop. The symptom came on randomly. I can boot it up once with no problems everything runs normal. After that if I try to boot it, the power light comes on, fan spins, hard drive clicks and then nothing. Doesn't boot to bios or anything. If I leave it be for a week or so and try again laptop boots like nothing was ever wrong. Have tried wiping it and recovering. Doesn't matter if I'm on battery or cable power. I'm thinking it is probably the motherboard, which since I was a month past warrenty doesn't seem worth it. Any ideas?

    Welcome to Major Geeks.

This may sound like a dumb question, but how did you pay for it?

If you used a major credit card (MasterCard, Visa, AMEX), you may have an extra year's warranty through your credit card issuer. If you used one of these cards, check with your card issuer to see if it's covered.

    Hope this idea helps :)

Try running on one stick of ram unless you only have one, you might want to flash the BIOS to the latest version if you haven't already.
