LG GSA E60N dvd burner not working...but was about an hour ago HELP!!

I Just bought a the LG GSA E60N Dvd Burner and plugged it it as soon as i got home. It was great, i was watching movies, installing files, then all of a sudden it stopped working.

I removed the files i had installed hoping that one of these programs was the culpret...no success
I did a systems restore..no success
I uninstalled are reinstalled the drive...still no success

Im worried that I have maybe cause the problem so i dont really want to take it back, my previous dvd-drive in my laptop stopped working about a year ago and it does the exact thing as the new one...i insert the cd it i hear it revolving but nothing comes up on the computer. The other weird thing is that Windows recognises the driver as says that it is working properly, and AnyDVD can see the disk and can tell me the contents etc.

I am using Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 on an ASUS notebook...as far i can see i have all of the compatible system requirements. The thing that baffles me is that it was working just a couple of hours ago.
