As an avid reader, I have quite enjoyed many titles offered by WOWIO. The books are ad-supported in that the first 2 pages of all the pdf's I have so far contain a basic ad for verizon wireless. There is no ad-ware, etc. and the name you use for registration is placed within the ebook because they don't want you to share the titles, but rather share the link. You cannot use a web based email address to register re: yahoo, gmail, etc. and you are limited to downloading 3 books per day.

Seems good idea Abby, just a pitty its only for US folk at present due to copyright laws in various countries.

Tiz OK Abby... I went to register as I thought this would be cool if I can get these on my iPod, would be great for reading on a trip or lunchtime ( dont know when my next lunch in work will be ), but maybe they will roll this out slowly as they get permissions from other countries.

Just got me thinking as if the servers are in the USA, would copyright laws of my country apply..??!!

www.baen.com Free library that gives you an idea of what they ahve to offer, and lots of cheap DRM-free ebooks. Only carries sci-fi and fantasy, but we're all geeks here, right?

    www.gutenberg.org
Free eBooks for US residents. Several of them are also free in other countries, check the FAQ for details and for what you can download without getting in trouble.

You beat me to it. I've been to the Bean website, Eric Flint is one of my current favorite authors. Him and David Weber.
