Limewire

Hi

I've recently installed Limewire 4.10.3 and I have a problem insomuch as when I close the application (exit), it automatically reopens approx 1 minute later. I cannot find anything in 'Options' in the application to stop this happening.

Any ideas?

When you close it, does it actualy exit the program totally, or does it retreat to the systray? (icon near the time on the right-hand bottom)

BTW, some versions of LimeWire have spyware.

You can try Bit Torrent and Shareaza, but be aware that downloading files from other users PC's will always leave you prone to infection.

 

Well, that's one of the options. I actually changed it to exit completely rather than route to the system tray.

What are bit torrent and Shthinimajig?

ShareAzza is a freeware P2P like Limewire. It doesn't contain any spyware or adware, and it works on several networks, so it has a good selection.

It's better suited to broadband or always on connections.

It can also download torrent files.

Torrent files aren't stored just on the one PC. You download bits and pieces for many users, and as your downloading from them, you are also uploading so other users can do the same.
