limited / no connectivity unable to renew ip address

    Ok, I will go pick one up on my next day off. Thanks for all the help so far. I'll post again when I get one (probably Monday).

    Sorry that took so long, I had some unexpected expenses come up. Anyway, I bought the usb wifi and installed it and the computer still connect to the internet. I am getting the same messages as before. "Cannot renew IP address" "Cannot access DHCP" and the like.

    At this point I think you need to call cox cable. There should be no reason for you not to be able to connect with the wifi dongle. There may be a problem with your modem.

    Well mystery solved gang! Apparently COMODO was not completely uninstalled. So I downloaded a helper for that and PRESTO! Internet connection. Back to BestBuy to return the USB wifi adapter I bought. Thanks so much for everyone's help I would definitely recommend this forum to a friend in need. Good luck to everyone.

    Well, crap!! I knew there was a reason I didnt like Comodo!! Sorry, it just never entered my mind that Comodo might be on your system in traces that would be blocking you!!
