    Ok..

I use my computer, before I go up to the store for some mello yello, the network is working fine, the internet is working fine.

I come back, and it says limited or no connectivity

Everything is connected right, and the internet works fine on all the other computers.

Now how the hell does something like that just stop working, when absolutely nothing is changed.

I'm uses a linksys router. windows xp, and a cable modem.

Power cycle your modem and router. Also hard boot your PC (power off for 30 seconds, power on). Disable ALL firewalls (including the Windows one).

If that doesn't work, you can try to reinstall your NIC. Then if still no luck, provide us with more info (wired or wireless? what firewalls are intalled?) Also, read through this: http://www.pchell.com/support/limitedconnectivity.shtml.

wired, windows firewall, reset modem/router did a shutdown... all that stuff

Still getting the annoying "limited or no connectivity"

By far my most hated computer problem...
Because its so common. And windows doesn't do jack to tell you why.

In General you can debug the Network Setting of the computer following these steps.

Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer’s Device Manager. Make sure that the drivers are installed correctly; there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost

Step Two – Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify
If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work.

Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet
If need to Reinstall; Log to this page it have a lot of links to instructions to Windows Network Settings, and Sharing: Windows Network - Installing & Sharing.
