linking pc and laptop

my disc drive on my pc has died . What i would like to know is can i link my laptop to pc and then use my disc drive on laptop to add programs to my pc

please keep your answers reasonably simple .

p.s. yes i know the easy option is replace broken drive but times are hard so it will just have to wait.

thanks hrlow2 but my problem is the dvd/cd drive, my fault i didnt make it clear enough

Couple of solutions.
If the set-up file is small enough, copy to flash drive and transfer to desktop.
Are your comps networked? If so, map the CD Drive on the desktop. http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#map

Some programs don't allow you to specify where the program is installed, so you may run up against that problem.
