links don't underline anymore :(

It used to be whenever I typed an email addy or a web link, it would automatically be underlined and clickable.... but not anymore... can someone help me?? this is an easy one for you guys! thanks! btw, i run xp pro...

 

When you say typed, do you mean in a forum post, a Word doc or somewhere else ?

 

It's probably a setting/option that's been turned off somehow. 12quid is right -- we need to know what program you've been typing in to tell you how to turn that "underline url's" feature back on. So is it Outlook Express, MS Word, WordPad...some other program?

 

When I'm writing an email... (hotmail) it seems like some i'm recieving should be underlined and clickable too, that aren't.
Also, when Im writing listings for Ebay. I like to put a clickable link so people can see lots of pictures of what i am selling, without the extra charges. I used to be able to do it ...

 

I'd think there would be separate settings controlling editing links for an auction item on eBay and link settings for hotmail. For starters I suggest you look for "Options" or "Preferences" or something similar on Hotmail and check through all the options to see if there's a box you can check for something like "Display internet/web addresses as links" or "...as live links" or something like that. And then check for something similar in your eBay options/settings.

But if this feature stopped working both at eBay and in hotmail at the same time it may be that either some change you made with a utility or security program turned these features off. I suppose it could even be a virus or some other malware, but I don't think that's likely. Hope these suggestions are some help. Sorry I can't come up with anything better, but I don't use hotmail or eBay.
