Linksys E3000 dropping packets and HIGH latency when B/G is active

So, I have had a pretty long and unsuccessful history with Linkysys. Some routers had extremely weak signals, dual band routers rebooted consistently, some just straight up didn't work right out of the box. I'm rather very well-versed with wireless tech, and I was totally stumped on my problems. Ended up having to replace.

The latest issue I'm having is with my dual band router. After two weeks of aggravation, I narrowed my problem down to the router. What's happening is rather strange though. When I have just the N wireless signal up, everything is fine and dandy, but as soon as I engage the B/G or just G, the whole thing fall to pieces. Packet loss jumps to 20% and latency rockets up to 800ms - 1200ms. As soon as I turn off the B/G again everything returns to normal.

Even more peculiar, when I wire directly into the router, the same thing still happens. I know it's not interference, and I know it's not anyone using P2P. I can't disable the B/G because there are devices that are reliant upon it. This is a relatively new problem, about two weeks. The router is over 6 months old and was working fine up until that point.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm totally at a loss. Linksys is no help either, they just want me to replace.

 

1 year hardware limited warranty from Linksys. If they are telling you to replace, I'd do that. Make sure they pay shipping for both units.

It reads like this router is getting over stressed with something, it shouldn't happen.
