    he's the deal, got 4, yes 4 Linksys Wireless-G Printservers (wps54gu2).

Got to be put on to network to allow printing from HP deskjet 9300. we have a wireless network set up, but print server does not want to detect it at all! will print if wired but not if unplugged.

    please help :(

Has it been configured with the proper SSID and encryption codes?

Do the servers have a different IPs and device names (SCxxxx) and is the linksys printer software installed on the PC?

I recall a additional management software that scans and detects print servers over the IP network. I'd check to see what devices are being detected.

I'd also recommend installing and testing one server at a time, before bringing the next up.

each print server has its own static ip address.

i am only testing with one print sserver at the moment. all driver for printer are installed.

just to get my understanding right, the whole point of having the wirless print server is so that it connects to the wireless network, and tehrefore i do not need to have the LAN cable plugged in?

That is the point, but you need to have it connected for initial configuration.

Just to make sure I understand you, there is additional software provided by linksys that is different from the driver provided by your manufacturer.

Is your printer mapped to the correct port? It should be the IP address of the server.

You are right, it comes with a basic install function (via Linksys) like all hardware does, but also has another program called BiAdmin Management Utility.

There is a static IP address set for the server being 172.30.32.180 (not that it makes any difference to you but still nice to know), which is part of a selecetion of IP address set aside for Print Servers around the site.
