My wife was having trouble with her laptop & decided to do a full restore to it. She has a Lynksys wpc54gs Wireless-g adapter & reinstalled the program.
Now she can't reconnect to the internet. The signal shows good, but shows looking for an internet address. When you go to the screen that shows the IP address it just shows zeros. Any ideas would be welcome.
    Thanks, John

    Welcome to MGs.
I would go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the Linksys software.
Also use CCleaner to clean up any leftovers and reboot the machine.
Then use the Windows wireless service to control your connection.

Also look in Device Manager to be sure nothing has a red x or a yellow !. It could be that a driver is missing.

Thanks for the help. I checked everthing you guys suggested But found the wife had written & entered one of the digits of the security code wrong. It's up & running good now. I did run that cc cleaner & found 625 errors in the registry. some off the stuff was things we had deleted years ago. Thanks again ! John
