I am using an old netbook ( eeepc 701)

this little laptop has lasted me a while and i love this laptop even if its a bit slow to do some things

For the most part i can do all my light tasks on lxle

It was actually a user named plodr from these forums that suggested the operating system and it has been quite useful for light tasks

I was using 14.04.3 for almost a year and then my nephew accidentally messed with some files and rather than try and fix it i decided to just to a complete reinstall of the new 14.04.4 . I keep my important files on a usb stick and the main OS on the sd card so it didn't really matter that i had to reinstall.

Well this laptop has an old processor so i have to put forcepae for it to install correctly when i was using 14.04.3 this was the same case with 14.04.4 . I never had issues running 14.04.3 and 14.04.4 runs just fine as in a LIVE environment.

However after i installed and booted off the sd card i get a black screen after the lxle logo launches and tries to to the the main UI. instead i only see a logo saying wireless connections detected and a complete black screen with nothing. When i pressed the power button it says the normal things ''shutting off' turning off radio signals'' etc..

Any help on how to fix the black screen issue as i can't do anything

I would have tried posting this on the lxle forums but that websites makes it a bit of a pain to post and create an account that i haven't been able to even create an account due to their system/restrictions

tried the steps nothing worked still black screen upon boot

Also tried getting iso from 4 different places to make sure that wasn't the issue and problem still persists

by all accounts this should work fine as it has no problem when i am testing the live version

ill try some other things later tommorow

I appreciate and welcome any other suggestions, this is actually the first time i had this issue and i installed linux in about 7 other different machines

    Update---

The issue was the when i installed the operating system that i put auto login, once i took that off it when re-installing lxle booted fine.
However i can't seem to enable auto login even when i manually do it through the user account it still requires a password.

Not such a big deal but hopefully i can manage to enable auto login
