Lite On Problems

    I have a Lite On SOHW1693S dual layer dvd burner. Every disc I put in, it creates scratches in perfect circles, making my discs unreadable afterwards. Sometimes my drive won't even recognize a cd or dvd I insert into it. I read online about unbalancing the focus loop or something like that? If that fixes the problem, how do I do it? I updated my firmware and still the same problem. Help?

    Send it back if it's new.

    You shouldn't have to do anything to get it to burn properly.

    LiteOn did have problems with earlier DVD burner models, but the latest models are much better.
