Live Search Platinum fixed? How to tell?

Hi, I got hit by Live Search Platinum last night and tried running Malwarebytes to fix it but when the computer would restart the LSP was still there, even after running Malwarebytes in safe mode. While following a guide trying to fix LSP as I have done before (with this guide involving a registry fix), my computer started shutting down randomly, even in safe mode. I was finally able to download Superantispyware and it appeared to fix the LSP but then my computer would still shut down at random, safe mode or not. Also my Microsoft Security Essentials was not working so I had to uninstall and reinstall it but then when I ran it it said that I had a critical trojan, which MSE then appeared to fix as well. However my computer would still shut down randomly with a message saying something like 'Windows has encountered a critical error and will shut down in 1 minute. Save any open documents'. Since it appeared that the virus/trojan was gone and that my registry 'fix' was possibly to blame for the shut downs, I thought System Restore would be the thing to do, however I didn't want to run System Restore and have my computer shut down in the middle of it so I booted from the Win 7 reinstall disk and did System Restore from there. My computer now appears to be working good and I'm currently running all the different scans (Malwarebytes, MSE, etc.) in safe mode but I would like to ask for any help in running whatever logs or scans need to be run to make sure everything is kosher and something isn't simply hiding in the background since System Restore isn't a cure-all. I'm not sure which scans or logs to post so I will wait for any further instructions. Thanks very much for any help.
