I currently have Windows 2000 Professional as my OS. Because Windows 2000 will not accept any programs with DOS, I want to load Windows 98SE so I can load games which are DOS bases. I still want 2000 to be my default OS with 98 only used for games (no email or Internet). What's the best way to accomplish this?

The best way to accomplish this is to format the computer, install windows 98 and then install windows 2000. Putting an older OS on second is very hard to do. Where as if you do it the other way the installer for the newer OS will take care of most the work for you.

You may simply want to look into some alternatives though. For example dosbox ( http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1 ) works great for me. I can run all dos games and dos apps inside of it that I've tried without a problem. Plus it lets me stay in windows without having to reset which is great for me.. It basicly just gives you a dos prompt in windows, which actually works as dos.

I agree with Coco, try the DOSbox first. I don't use it for gaming, but it works wonderfully for some older DOS software I need to run for work.

If it doesn't work for you, then follow Coco's advice for dual booting, old OS first just like he says.
