Loading Software

    My system locked up and had to reload W/XP SP2. It runs fine but I can't install any software. Autorun starts up and then stops. Cannot maually start them either. A Virus????? I have Vcom, AVG and AntiVitus on the system. I had to remove all Symantec because it kept saying activate please and now its over activated. Bye-Bye Norton after 15 years. :p

    Uninstall either AVG or AntiVirus, you only need one. More than one often can and do interfer with each other.

    See if that resolves your problem.

    Only AVG is active. I run the other manually on week-end. I may have my answer. Its win Installer 3.1. Getting V2.

    You may only use the other AV prg on the weekend, but even if it is disabled it can interfer with the other AV prg. Pick one and stick with it, uninstall the other one.

    Windows Installer 3.1 v2 fixes several bugs from v1.
