I was hit by some malware (I think some form of ransomware) which AVG stopped at least the virus part. When I caned the computer in safe mode AVG found many locked files and folders (see attached). I also scanned with AVG, IObit, and Anti-Malware (in normal mode) and nothing was found. I searched for these files/folders and the resulting messages were "Location is not available" and "not accessible". Also they do not show up in the directories even as hidden files. the computer still starts and seams to run normally except when I tried to do a System Restore it did not work.

How can I access these locked files and folders and unlocked and scan and restore them?

Additionally, in the AVG log it stated that these files are "not tested" but somehow "Ok". If this is the case (with other scanners as well) then this looks like a huge vurnerablility in which malware can be placed in a locked file and is never detected.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

There is nothing wrong in that log. It is normal for Windows to lock many files and folders.

AVG is totally off base calling them infections.
