locked out of a windows box

Ok,heres my problem.

In an effort to set up our new wireless lan network, weve managed to screw up ip config on the desktop system (running win2k pro) which now leaves us with an administrator account to which we do not have the password, and now we cant log onto the workstation at all!

So,ive been looking at password recovery tools, such as the following:

This is after a bit of a google. However im not very confident with these methods.

Ive got a (rather fast) laptop on a wireless network with this computer, but i cant load any programs onto it unless totally neccecary. THe desktop is on the lan BUT im not sure whether the ip is set up at all, and if so what the ip has been reset to

You can always root your box if it's not patched against DCOM 1/2/4 or the WM hole if you can find PoC code for your version.

 

hmmm..... well, shame this laptop doesnt have a floppy drive... DOH!
