    Hi,

I was just recently checking my mom's computer with the steps under the post, "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support".

I've managed to delete all spyware/adware located on the computer founded by the programs.

The following are the logs from BitDefender and Panda ActiveScan where not all viruses and/or malware have been removed.

Below that would be the HiJackThis! log of this computer.

If support can please help with removing the rest of these malware, much would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Sorry for the repost, but I could not upload the BitDefender log because the file was too large for the site. So below is the following BitDefender Log.

Edit by chaslang: Very long inline log attached as ZIP file.

    Thank you.

Sorry about the large log above,

my parents don't know any better to scan for viruses/spyware/adware/malware often, so this is about a year of no scanning's work.

I don't know what options you set for the BitDefender scan but you must have set something differently. It should not be showing ALL files especially clean ones. All we need to see are infected ones. Your log would not be so large if you set the scan up properly. Please do not post logs in line like this. You could have put it in a ZIP file to reduce the size (as I now did). But no one is going to look at a log like that. Do some house cleaning on your own first and change the scan options.

First start out by emptying the java cache at:

    C:\Documents and Settings\FCHAU\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache

Manually delete (you may need to boot in safe mode) all the items listed in the Panda log.

Goto Add/Remove programs and uninstall WeatherBug (should have been done in step 0 of the READ ME).

Do you know what the below two lines are for:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Hide] C:\BossPen\Hide.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FAhid] C:\BossPen\Fahid.exe

Are they related to this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/Fahid.exe-13584.html

For all OS types, make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).
Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {87766247-311C-43B4-8499-3D5FEC94A183} - (no file)
    O1 - Hosts: 127.0.1.10 quarklicense.ngs.org
    O1 - Hosts: 127.0.1.11 Yosemite
    O1 - Hosts: 127.0.1.14 citrix2
    O1 - Hosts: 127.0.1.13 citrix1
    O1 - Hosts: 127.0.1.12 cichlid
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0AC7D922-46CC-421E-B86D-6F2313CEC89E} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jvv.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [w7ruDvWb8] C:\documents and settings\fchau\local settings\temp\w7ruDvWb8.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [G] c:\documents and settings\fchau\local settings\temp\G.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ZPls] c:\documents and settings\fchau\local settings\temp\ZPls.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [98D0CE0C16B1] rundll32.exe D0CE0C16B1,D0CE0C16B1

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete
    :
    C:\documents and settings\fchau\local settings\temp\w7ruDvWb8.exe
    c:\documents and settings\fchau\local settings\temp\G.exe
    c:\documents and settings\fchau\local settings\temp\ZPls.exe
    C:\windows\system32\D0CE0C16B1

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.
Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST).

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1) If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2) Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3) If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log. And tell us how things are working.
