Is there a way that i don't have to log on when i first start up. I'm the only one on this computer so there is no need for different user accounts. I'm running windows xp pro.

    Yes, indeed.

Click START, then RUN, then type in:

    control userpasswords2

Then click (select/highlight) the user that you normally login as...then uncheck the box "users must enter a username and password to use this computer". Press ok. A logon box should show up with your username, now, type in your password twice, press ok. Now, when you reboot, it should go directly to the desktop.

BTW, this also works in VISTA.
