I have gotten a hold of some bad download.

When I start my computer, I get a black screen with the message:
    logonui.exe application error

I have to click it nine different times to get to the main screen where i am greeted by another message:
    Logon to Windows
Data execution prevention Windows Login UI

This error message pretty much will not go away no matter how much I click it.

Sometimes, the start screen will not even dislpay at all. The network connection does not work either. I have since unplugged the cord from the computer.

I have gone through all the read me first steps and the windows xp steps.

Thank you for any help in this matter.
    Tom

Your MGLogs.zip is either damaged or unreadable.......however, from what I can see in the other logs, you have a new infection that we are starting to see a lot of and it corrupts all of your system files. Even if we can remove that apparent malware, we will need to caution you that your system may still be unreliable.

Let's do this first and then see where we stand:

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
o If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Drivers::
    etharaxh
    ethyznsb
    aqwrfamc
    imbeqozj
    iwyfcfly
    tomhgzbi
    wpxcqeyh

    File::
    c:\windows\System32\Drivers\wpxcqeyh.sys
    c:\windows\System32\Drivers\tomhgzbi.sys
    c:\windows\System32\Drivers\iwyfcfly.sys
    c:\windows\System32\Drivers\imbeqozj.sys
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\etharaxh.sys
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\ethyznsb.sys
    c:\windows\System32\Drivers\aqwrfamc.sys
    c:\windows\SYSTEM32\14.tmp
    c:\windows\SYSTEM32\8.tm_
    c:\windows\SYSTEM32\50.tmp
    c:\windows\SYSTEM32\28.tmp
    c:\windows\SYSTEM32\25.tmp
    c:\windows\SYSTEM32\20.tmp

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
If it asks you to overide the prvevious file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Combo.

    Thank you for your help.
    Attached is the ComboFix
MGtools bat gives me a blue screen of death
The logonui error is still there as well.

Prior to your posting, Malewarebytes and Superantispy both came up empty on threats, however, Spybot Search and Destroy came up with
win32.delf.uc. It would delete this, but it would just come back. I tried running Spybot in safe mode as well, but the win32.delf.uc keeps coming back.

I have read that this may not be fixable. My only question is that if I have to reformat, can I burn my needed documents onto a DVD, or will they be compromised as well?

    Thanks again for the help.

This seems to be mostly effecting system files, so backing up your data to dvd should be fine. Once you reformat, and after you have installed AV and AS programs, just scan your documents before you transfer them back.

Combo did not remove what I wanted to remove, and having MGTools crash your system is a new symptom with this.

As I stated, even if we removed the malware that we could find, I still would not feel that your system was reliable as this infection opens a port and downloads additional malware. :(

I reformatted harddrive and reinstalled Windows XP. Here are the current logs form this morning. Please advise if problems are gone. Thanks.

The malware is gone......we are trying to work out how to deal with this new type of infection. :(

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)

    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
