Login Question

I am running Windows 2000 Pro on a machine I had set to automatically login.

I changed the password, and now it will not automatically login, it tries but it wants to use the old password, then gets an error and prompts me for the new password.

Where can I change this so that the auto login uses my new password?

There should be something that says:

DefaultPassword

Double click this, and enter the new password.

 

No, there is nothing there that reads "Default Password".

This is Windows 200 Pro.

The only thing with password in the name is 'passwordexpirywarning'.

Then there is your problem. theefool is correct. The registry structure of Windows 2K/XP/2003 is almost identical.

There should be a defaultusername password, and domain. In addtion, there should eb an autoadminlogon value which eneds to be set to 1.

defaultdomain is there and set to the computer name

No 'password' file though. Is this something that I can create???

 

Yes, create a new string value like the screenshot shows in the link I provided.
