    Hi
I have used this comb for 2 weeks and had to replace the batteries.
I don't know if they were old or used .
I was going to replace this combo but another person said he never turns the keyboard or mouse off and gets 6-9 months on one and a year on the other. I do not want a set that requires turning on and off. If I try to turn my mouse off the PC awakens. I do not want to turn either off at anytime- it's a preference. My last set lasted 6 years with a change of battery every 6-12 months, left on all day. I put the pc to sleep when not using and off at bed.
So, if any one has a similar combo and habits and does not turn off either yet still gets decent battery life, please let me know. I still have time to get store credit but 14 days has left me out of money back.
    TY

    Batteries in what?

I cannot speak for your keyboard and mouse, but I have several wireless keyboards and mice around here (from Microsoft and Logitech) and the batteries tend to last at least 6 months. I never turn them off - they just go to sleep on their own.

If this was a brand new keyboard and mouse using the factory supplied batteries (especially if unknown or off-brand batteries), I would wait and see what happens with your new batteries.

If you don't get several months out of them, then there may be a problem, but it would be odd to happen with both the mouse and the keyboard. Even if you do get several months, you might consider investing in rechargeables.

I have rechargeables, thank you. I put alkaline in for now to see how it goes.
I do not like the idea off turning either off. I put the PC to sleep when not in use and off when it's bedtime. Logitech does not know anything - they keep contradicting them selves and the language barrier does not help.
I simply want to not bother with switches and get decent life from batteries but they always intercede with the obvious that you will get longer life if they are turned off when not in use. I told them that my pc awakens if I try to turn the mouse off and they don't get it. Thanks for the reply and I will see how this goes now. That tip about rechargeables is a good one and hope it helps. They are only 1.2 not 1.5 but are supposed to do the job of 1.5.

That's normal - and not a bad thing either. Non rechargeable batteries tend to immediately drop in voltage when put under a load. And then they continue to drop slowly in voltage until fully discharged (or thrown away). Engineers and circuit designers know this very well so circuits designed for 1.5V batteries are actually designed to operate properly at around 1.2V.

Rechargeable batteries tend to stay at their fully charged voltage levels for the life of their charge, then suddenly drop. So a 1.2V rechargeable AA battery, for example, actually provides a constant 1.2V voltage for a longer period (than non-rechargeable batteries) which actually makes it easier on regulator circuits as they don't have to work as hard.

For the record, I never "turn off" or even shut down my computers - even before bed. I just let them sleep.
