Can you believe my Old Isuzu drove 62 miles there loaded so much the frame was on the Rear End with computer stuff and a 3-wheeler then drove 62 miles back with that on the back and on the stock bumper at that. think it was a fare trade? LOL could only go 35MPH on the way back any faster and it would start to sway so bad that it would try to jack-knife and slide you off the road.

Oh when i picked it up the guy said "If that old Isuzu 4banger can pull off with that on the back and the bumper don't fall off He would poop himself" well i did not have a chance to see if he did ;) LOL:lol:

Many people said that my old truck could not do it and on the stock bumper at that. I guess i proved them wrong ;)

Oh on the way back with it i had alot of looks and people just staring at it and yelling Hi and horn blowing. lol

You would not get out the yard ;) It needs quite abit of work but with time it will be on the road once again ;) The guy said it was a 72 but after i got it i had a look at the door and it said it was built in 73 so that would make it a 74 model.

    Hello N5638J,

Ok, pics are nice, but where is the details, come on help a sister out here.
What size motor, diff and tranny. Do you have to run polution gear on the motor. Nice Mags - what size tyres will you run on it? oh and Is it auto or manual? Does it have any electrics in it? details, details, come now don't be shy. Bring it to Aussie, maybe I'll give ya a drag..;)

Its a 1974 Dodge Charger SE Brougham
    Motor = 318 2bbl
    Tranny = Auto

Thats all i know right now as it was getting close to dark when i got home and i was so tired i just left it on the trailer in the front yard with the P'UP and thats it.

And if someone has something smart to say to that let me see them drive 62 miles (total 124miles) at 35MPH because any faster would causing swaying and rollover and also could not run the AC in the 100F heat because then i could not make it up the steep hills.:cry Thats what happens when you try to tow something that weighs twice as much as the towing truck and the towing truck having only about 100HP LOL

No to both questions, :-D and I'm not going to hang anything on ya about your towing skills. BTDT. Look forward to more details when available. just interested in the specs of the car. Old cars have souls, that makes them interesting to me.

Oh a lady after my own heart ;)

I always say i would rather have me a classic than some new plastic piece of junk. Does anyone really think that in 50years someone would be trying to restore a 2000 model mustang? lol

The answer to that question IMO is "no-one in their right mind". Each to their own, the new cars really appeal to some but not me. You wouldn't believe the amount of grief I get because I choose to drive a 1983 model car. sheesh;)

    Hey NJ
You got a really interesting project on your hands with the restoration but with time effort and cash you should have a real show stopper to go cruisin.

the problem with new auto's is that is that they all have the same basic shape and you only know what it is when you look at the emblem.

i saw a new Jaguar this week and if you don't look at the name you would think it was a Chrysler

    I drive a 86 Isuzu;)

Yea with time and some cash. Remember i did not pay a dime for it i traded a bunch of junk for it ;)

There is some heavy rust in places i think thats gonna be the hardest thing for me only because of the places like at the bottom of one of them side windows is rusted clean through it will be hard to make patch panels for places like that. The insides is shot i think the only thing reusable inside is the center console and the steering wheel and carpet all the rest is cracked/busted/riped open.

The motor needs afew things to run like i said somethings were missing like the Distributor was not in the motor the 4bbl intake and carb was not in the trunk like he said it was but it did have the 2bbl intake and carb on it lol Today i am gonna start by cleaning out the inside and engine bay to see what all i am dealing with

I know one car I'd never drive, even if it was given to me for free, is a Kia. Those things are the epitome of garbage :-D. I also happen to have a theory on the noises they make when accelerating, but I should probably refrain from mentioning it ;).

NO way in hell would i do a flame job.rolleyes

When the time comes for it to be repainted i am thinking high gloss Black to show off the chrome that's all over the car or the Factory Plum Crazy Purple with white top because it looks good like that and that's the signature 2tone paint for the SE....

Anyone care to make donations for the car?:-D LOL or how about contact Chip Foose about it ;)

Yes, I'll pay you ten bucks to keep it the hell out of Florida ;)

I've got a buddy in the P&B business; he owes me a favor so when you are ready for paint, let me know and I can likely get it for you for free or close to it. And they exclusively use Dupont paints, so not only will it look good your car will think it's Jeff Gordon.

By the way, am I the only one that hears Deliverance music when looking at those photos? :-D

Thanks Chris i will take you up on that when the time comes but there's some body work that needs to be done mainly rust, someones pisspoor try at doing patch panels and a bullet hole?:confused LOL

I also got to make it run and move under its own power and i think i am just gonna rewire the whole thing atless i am in luck and they sell whole wiring kits.

    Hello N5638J

From looking at your latest outside pics, you have your work cut out for you. When was the car last running?
Shame about the 4bbl but at least you have the 2bbl.
Will Bog become your newest and next best-est friend? :-D It's a little hard to tell from pics how straight the panels. ;)

  32. N5638J

    N5638J Guest

The panels are pretty straight. All that really needs to be fix is the rust holes in the body and someone really messed up the wiring i can't get no power to anything but the horn and ignition box on the firewall no power at the fuse box even..

So far on the list to do on it

rip all wiring out and replace with new wiring harness new fuse box and all from bumper to bumper (Some idiot did a job on the wiring lol)
fix the body I.E. Patch panels
    have all chrome rechromed
    Fresh paint
fix or replace seats dash and cluster new carpet basically everything on the inside but the plastics.

Anyone know of a good place to get a whole wiring harness for it?

I decoded the VIN and this is it.
