Looking for 2 dimm of 512 for pc1066

hey forum,

i wanted to see if someone could help me, i have a dell 8250 with a total of 512mb pc1066 memory and am looking to upgrade to a total of 1024mb, but am having trouble finding the pc1066. if any one knows where i can get it for a good price, because it is expensive, i would appriciate it. i believe it is non-ECC by the way.

 

I don't see any 512Mb sticks of 1066 RDRAM at either newegg or tigerdirect, but judging by the price of a 512Mb stick of PC800 RDRAM ($250 @ tigerdirect), it might be more cost effective to get a new motherboard and DDR RAM.

Namebrand motherboard (Asus, Abit, MSI, Gigabyte) - ~$125
1Gb (2x512) PC3200 Corsair XMS/Kingston Hyper X DDR SDRAM - ~$220
And even get a nice new case/PSU for $60.

Still less than 2 512Mb sticks of PC800 RDRAM.
