Looking For A Current SM Bus Controller

I am looking for a current SM Bus Controller For windows xp 64bit.

My mother board is a MSI 870A-G54

Might I suggest using google to search for the model name next time?

 

I know where the site is but that is not the current driver.

 

How do you know? Windows XP drivers are not regularly updated, if ever anymore. Windows XP has been retired and uses a different driver model than Vista, 7, and 8.

Later Windows models contain certain drivers, and therefore there are not updated versions unless the reference driver is flawed.

Even if you check AMD's website, it points you right back to MSI for drivers.

 

Dont you think i know that but i know for a fact there is a later driver out there.I have tried to use the latest AMD Advanced micro and that did not fix the SM Bus Controller error in Hard ware section.I have done searching on xp for files in and out.And even though i tried the controller no the MSI site it still shows yellow issue.But desktop is running fine.Even shows yellow on my USB 3.0 port and yet i do have the latest driver for that as well.

 

Was that a question, or a statement?

Where is the evidence that there is a newer one out there for that chipset?

 

I found a latest one from the AMD site Chipset Drivers.And like i said not even sure if the one from amd will work.

But not sure if it will work.

Different chipsets use different drivers. Not all chipsets are included in reference drivers. Also, what AMD drivers are you referring to? There is no 8 series chipset downloads that I see.

SM Bus Controller is not a generic driver.

I know there are catalyst 13.1 drivers. However, these are gpu drivers only.

 

Ok i went bye my Chipset Model 870 and i found the link that works now.

Sorry for being snippy i just got off work.

I normally save my good files to flash drive stick.

Now if i can get my USB 3.0 to work lol.

 

Post deleted, as I see that you have fixed your problem.

 

Keep in mind it may still be the same driver version. AMD's inf file code everything to be a certain version when installed, regardless of the actual individual driver version. Good to see it worked out though. I will be surprised if you get usb 3.0 working.
