I would have gone for a Maxtor One Touch but most of them are way over your $100 limit.

    but how about this one

sadly cannot check most sites as we are blocked from alot in work, especially shopping sites. But the above options are good, also check out LiteOn external CDRWs.

He said he had a Homer moment, in other words "DOH".

Get over it, he made a mistake and said so.

We all do, especially answering a lot of posts and doing your own thing at the same time.

    BIG DEAL.

Anyway VicJB03, if you haven't gone out and bought an external hard drive yet :) , then I would consider purchasing an external enclosure and making your own external CD burner.

You will get a better range and it's also cheaper.

or to make it easier I have quoted and highlighted the relevent parts......
Italic text is joke from Insomniac.... Bold text is his opinon on making your own external CD burner. :p

    ROFL!!! :D

What's wrong with all of you?

The guy wants an external floppy drive and you guys are going on about hard drives and burners?

    Read what he sez. :p

    Sorry VicJB03, couldn't resist.

As I suggested, buy an external 5.25" enclosure and a regular internal burner and you will get a better and cheaper external unit than one you can buy.

    I would strongly recommend a LiteOn 52X 32X 52X.

They are super-fast, accept just about any media, are cheap and reliable and burn just anything without problems.

There is also a huge community that writes utilities and firmware for them. (Not official)

My only criticism of them is that they can be a bit noisy and on some models the tray seems flimsy, but these are minor points and it in no way affects their excellent performance.

Geeza, LMAO not been called that for a long time, are you an Eastender?, eh cor blimey gov would ya adam and eve it ;)

No you listen as its just not sinking in............

"I think" ... don't think I actually did say external HD ..... YES again just in case you didnt hear the first time or even the second or third time... I COMPLETLY MISS READ THE ORIGINAL POST.... it happens get over it!!

I also didnt think of Insomniacs great idea of using an external 5.25" HD case to house a CDRW, plus his suggestion of LiteON is spot on... I have had many and they are good value but better still pretty reliable.

    No, can't you read!

    An external CPU! :p

Master Mayostick, read all the above posts carefully, then read them again.

I know it won't make the slightest difference, but you need all the reading practise you can get.

Anyway, catch you all on the flip side Geezas, Sheilas and Guvnas!
