looking for a program to use..help please

I am disabled and it has become almost impossible to type as of late. I have heard of programs that you can actually speak into a microphone or into your pc and it translates into words on your computer. Is this true? If so does anyone know what they are? I am a writer and the loss of use of my hands is well....u can imagine. I would appreciate any ideas given my way!
