Looking for free registry repair program

My wife was unable to open wmv. files. When I go under Folder options and file types, wmv isn't even listed (seems strange). Somewhere I was told to run a reccomended Registry scan and repair program (the computer is slow also, geting more memory tomm.) anyways the program is Uniblue Registry Booster 2010. It found 328 errors, and would fix 15 for free and the rest if I bought it. Is it worth buying? Are there free ones out there and does this seem like alot of errors or is this common?

 

Use cCleaner, though that won't fix a missing file association.
Try dialafix.

I tried to edit message, but 10 minute rule wouldn't let me. I have run CC cleaner on it already today. Then Uniblue still went and found 328 errors. It doe run XP, I will try theother program.

 

To fix your wmp file associations (which could easily have been removed by one of your registry "cleaners", by the way), start Windows Media Player and bring up the options window by hitting Alt-T on your keyboard, then press the O key.

Under the file types tab, select the file associations you want to open with WMP, or click "Select all" and then click ok.

You dont need a "cleaner".
