Looking for Help on Boosting FPS in Games

The game in particular is "Day of Defeat." "MasterTech," I've read through a few similar forums to see that you typically are interested in what OS, MoBo Chipset, Graphics Card, and critical System Info are before you make suggestions, so I've tried my best to get you all the info you need...or anyone for that matter.

OS: Windows 2000 Prof.
CPU: Intel Celeron II, 900 MHz
Chipset: Intel Whitney i810
RAM: 384 Mb SD-RAM
Graphics Card: nVidia Geforce4 MX 4000, 64MB DDR Ram (Using the drivers that came with the card which says Version: 53.03)

That should suffice. Currently I'm hovering around 50-60fps, but I'm told that I should be getting every bit of 100+, however all of these "techs" don't know why I'm not getting this, so maybe you (or anybody) can help me???

So far, I've turned my Antialiasing OFF, Anisotropic Filtering OFF, and vSync OFF...now I just don't get why I'm nowhere near 100+ fps...

 

a lot of games are locked at 60FPS and it has nothing to do with your card.

 

What he says is true about some games being locked at 60fps but actually with your setup and if you run the game at say 800 by 600 res in 32 bit color I am surprised you get 60 fps. Win2000 and your processor and your video card are all a bad setup for gaming and why techs would be puzzled about getting only 60 fps is beyond me. So I would be tickled with what your getting, though you can tweak it and maybe get it a better. Good luck...
