    Hi, My emails are returned as undeliverable. Contacting my ISP, they told me to look at www.mxtoolbox.com. I was (still am) listed 11 times. Searching the web brought me here. I followed the total guideline for removing. I reported I was clean at the sites mentioned at mxtoolbox. Several hours later I was RElisted.......... Apparently (?) spam had been send from my PC again.
    During problemsolving I stumbles into a file, mentioned qiujwwnf.sys in windows\system32\ which I couldn't delete, rename, copy or cut. Malware and super anti spyware mentioned it as quarantained by them. Scanning the file with my regular virusscanner (Norman) gives no indication of virus. At the moment I have come to the point of throwing the laptop to the iwndow and bying a new one. Not to mention that I have to clean my own PC (which I haven't turned on for more than a month now).
    In the next following post(s) I will upload the other log files.
    Can somebody please help me with this issue?
    Regards,
    Marc.:cry

    You need to attach the entire C:\MGLogs.zip.

    TDDSkiller did not run completely, but it is no matter. Please put combofix directly on your desktop, not here:
    Gestart vanuit: c:\users\monique\Saved Games\Desktop\ComboFix.exe

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Driver::
    qiujwwnf

    File::
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\qiujwwnf.sys

    Folder::
    C:\Users\monique\AppData\Local\frkjceybt
    C:\Users\monique\AppData\Local\mmxmwemys

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    NOTE: Malware detected in email databases has to be cleaned up by you. You have a few choices:

    1. delete the whole file which is not an option you normally want to use
    2. load the email folder that contains the infection and delete ALL unnecessary emails (hoping to remove the problem email) and then use the Mailbox Cleanup option to delete all old emails. Then compact the Outlook database to permanently remove data. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/196990 If you do not cleanup and compact the databases, the deleted emails may still be leaving hidden information in the database that you just cannot see but a scanner may still pickup on it.
    3. create a new folder and move only emails you really need into the new folder and then delete the infected folder.

    Hi,
    Just did what you told me to do. With explorer I can't find qiujwwnfsys in c:\windows\system32\drivers folder. It gives me hope........:-D
    Combofix took some time. Started with update, restart combofix, making recoverypoint, icons at the lower right re-appearded, except norman antivirus and spamfighter, windows startup took some time with combo window on screen saying it was making a log. After some time it refreshed the desktop. Description of proces accurate enough?
    Getlogs with mgtool was much faster Hereby the results in the attachment. Hope the problem is dealt with now.
    Since it's way past bedtime here, I want to thank you for this moment and go on next thing in the morning.
    Regards,
    Marc.

    Only two things to remove:

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    c:\users\monique\AppData\Local\Temp\fb521.tmp
    C:\Users\monique\AppData\Local\temp\DIVDFA8.TMP

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.

    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now just to double check:
    Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    What malware issues are you having?

    Hi Tim,

    I followed your last guidelines. Should the problem now be solved after you've read my last logs?
    2nd, are there general guidelines for preventing this malware problem for the future?
    Thanks,
    Marc.

    You are welcome, the following should answer your questions:

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Hi Tim,

    Running "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
    gives me a screen which indicates "it can't find c:\users\monique\desktop\combofix. Check name and try again"
    How to handle?
    Marc

    That's because you have it installed here:
    c:\users\monique\Saved Games\Desktop\ComboFix.exe

    So put this in the run box:
    "c:\users\monique\Saved Games\Desktop\ComboFix" /uninstall

    Hi Tim,

    Laptop seems all clear, thanks for that. Now I've turned of and disabled communications with my laptop and started to screen my pc. Looks all clear. Would you be so kind to take a look at the logs and tell me if you find anything "suspicious".
    Thanks,
    Marc.

    If this is for a different computer, you should have started a new thread. However, your logs are clean so you can just do the same final instructions on this system as I gave you for your laptop.
